This photograph of planet Earth taken on February 14, 1990, by the Voyager 1 space probe from a record distance of about 6 billion kilometers. In the photograph, Earth's apparent size is less than a pixel; the planet appears as a tiny dot against the vastness of space, among bands of sunlight reflected by the camera.  NASA launched Voyager 1 in 1977 to study the outer Solar System and eventually interstellar space. The spacecraft, still travelling at 64,000 km/h (40,000 mph), is the most distant human-made object from Earth and the first one to leave the Solar System. Operating for 42 years, 9 months and 22 days as of today (28 June 2020), it receives routine commands and transmits data back to the Deep Space Network. The following quote by Carl Sagan summarizes the beauty of the experience in this wonderful passage.  "Look again at that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you ever heard of, eve

Yesterday I had a long conversation with Dr. Hottie after a long time. Thanks to this lockdown, I have tried to connect & rekindle with some of the long lost friends and acquaintances, the stories of whom were left unattended in the daily rigmarole of life. It was an interesting conversation that sparked a new debate inside of me. Now  Dr. Hottie & I chatted casually long time back on Tinder but we never met up and I kinda forgot about him. Years went by and I randomly bumped into this tall, well built fella at a medical conference I was organizing. I left no stone unturned ogling him throughout the meeting (partially because he was the only maal looking types in the gathering which is usually attended by boring, middle-to-old age tired looking folks). The happy surprise was that he himself came

Many of us began this year with an unexplainable hope that things will turn out for better. Though this feeling occurs every year, it was relatively intense this time around as we were supposedly entering a new decade *wry smile*! And what a might fall it has been. Barely three months have past and we already had deadly communal riots in Delhi, global pandemic of unseen proportions, blatant horse trading of MLAs, toppling of governments and incarcerations (esp. in Kashmir). This all is in addition to further cementing of hatred and polarization in our country that has been an ongoing project of the current dispensation for last 6 years.  As most of us (the privileged lot I'd say) are home bound till end of April at least ( Work From Home as they call it ), it brought me back to this blog to update the things that have taken place in this little corner of universe that I call mine.  A project I undertook 2 years ago finally culminated with positive outcome. I could take
