Would you Remember?

When this tumultuous time has passed, will you remember?

When this chapter is over, the book shut and another episode ongoing, will you remember how you lived?

The moments of helplessness, days of depressing doom & nights of filling the void of time.

Will you recall, in vivid detail, the episodic sanity amidst a sea of emotions every day? The bargaining, the pleading, the grief of nothing to hold on to? Nothing to sustain you?

Will you reminisce about the times when your eyes swelled at the most inane things? A song, a memory, a picture. Thinking about your parents. Your erstwhile life. Previous/this life karmic debt that brought you at this juncture.

When you are busy again in meetings, on a stage, at official get-togethers all decked-up in formals, will you recollect how hard you prayed to be back in saddle?

When you are busy travelling again every fortnight, coming back to your cozy home, tired yet satisfied, how much you regretted not valuing what had when you had it?

Would you look back on those years of living a reticent life, away from the city, away from your so-called' friends, cocooning yourself away from the world & shielding yourself when the world attempted to reach out as you had nothing to 'show-off'?

Would you remember the realization you had of your lifelong habit of coping with pain & agony in private and only sharing about yourself when things were going good for you in worldly ways?

The days you are swarming in mails, messages & to-dos, would you hark back to the time when you were anxious for any piece of good news, constantly checking emails & waiting with baited breath for that one phone call that'll change your life?

Would you think of the prayers & the rituals you did to let Almighty lead you to the path of righteousness & dharma? How you asked His blessings to take life from the ongoing phase to the one you are living right now? Will you remember how you prayed to Maa Durga to help her son?

I hope you do. I hope you remember everything. Every emotion you felt, every minute you spent in productive pursuits & every second you wasted. For what you have now is all part of life.

As we grow old, chances don't come by often anymore. I hope you remember it all because I pray you never take life for granted.

Love,
